Fashion Friday- Steampunk

Steampunk is an unusual style- a cross between the Victorian era and Scifi fantasy. It reminds me of The Adventures of Jules Verne series from 2000- lots of lace and velvet jackets with futuristic gadgets with cogs and random looking pieces of brass. (For a better explanation of steampunk, check out this post from Designs by Victoria's blog: Attempt-to-explain-unexplainable ) It's a cool look. Here are some examples I found on Etsy:

From Wearable by Design:

From Haute Indiscretion:

From Moda Designs:

From Steamed Punk:

From Liv'n Good Jewelry:

From Manic Manx:

That is about the most clear cut description I've read yet. It is so big on Etsy right now but I've never seen or heard it mentioned besides there.
